Wolverhampton Wanderers produced an impressive comeback to defeat Burnley at Turf Moor, meaning the Clarets' winless run at home will stretch to a year.

Both sides were looking to bounce back after disappointing results in midweek, with Burnley squandering a lead to draw with Charlton, while Wolves were well beaten by Bolton.

It was the hosts who made the brighter start, capitalising on a few loose passes and an open defensive backline to create chances, eventually taking the lead through veteran striker Jamie Vardy.

Vardy's first goal for the Club came courtesy of a Jacob Bruun Larsen assist, his fourth goal contribution in three games.

Burnley continued to control proceedings, but shortly before the break found themselves back on level terms, with Fer Lopez capitalising on Kyle Walker's mistake to finish smartly.

The visitors looked more likely to go on and win the game, and one of Cesar Peixoto's substitutions proved decisive. Just 21 seconds after being introduced, Tawanda Chirewa found himself clean through on goal following another Burnley defensive lapse. The youngster fired an effort past Grégoire Coudert to notch his first senior goal and what proved to be the match-winner.

Burnley failed to muster up any meaningful chances as the game drew to a close, falling to a defeat that sees them lie 21st in the Sky Bet Championship table, Wolves, on the other hand, climb to 6th.
