Jerry Yates' late strike against his former Club helped Blackpool rescue a draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Fresh off the back of announcing Dave Challinor as their new manager, Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Blackpool to Hillsborough with both sides in need of a result to kickstart their season.

With Challinor watching on from the stands, Wednesday started the game on the front foot, seeing an effort cleared off the line.

It wasn't long until they hit the front, with Davis Keillor-Dunn winning the ball back and surging forward before picking out the bottom corner in style.

Advantage Sheffield Wednesday and the game looked firmly in their control. However, just five minutes before the break, Sil Swinkels was shown red after bringing down Tom Bloxham.

The sending off changed the complexion of the game, with Blackpool now able to commit men forward and go in search of an equaliser.

Keillor-Dunn went close to bagging a second, only to see his spectacular effort denied by Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Just ten minutes from time, Blackpool had their equaliser, with former Wednesday striker Jerry Yates poking home after a long ball caught out the home side's defence.
