Norwich City Community Sports Foundation launch Healthy Fans initiative

Norwich City Community Sports Foundation has launched their new Healthy Fans programme, designed to harness the power of sport to help The Canaries’ fans live healthier, happier lives.

This new initiative runs in parallel to the Foundation’s overarching mission to inspire the local community through the power of the game, providing exclusive support for fans to improve their physical and mental health.

Fans will have access to one-on-one support and advice during both men’s first-team and women’s fixtures via the various locations made available at Carrow Road and the Foundation's Community Hub, The Nest, including:

  • The Support Hub on matchdays at Carrow Road, located in the ticket office corner of the River End
  • The Support Hub mobile van positioned around the stadium on matchdays
  • The Support Hub mobile van located in The Nest’s main car park during women’s games

The Hubs on both sites provide a safe, confidential space for fans to open up about their struggles, should they want to. All available support covers a range of issues, including drug and alcohol misuse, gambling awareness, debt advice, nutrition and exercise, disability and mobility, and mental or physical health.

Dan Payne, Wellbeing Officer at Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, said: “We’re incredibly proud to launch Healthy Fans with support from Norwich City Football Club. Football brings people together, and this initiative will use that shared passion to address real health challenges in our community.

“We’re committed to improving physical and mental wellbeing, reducing isolation, and giving fans the tools they need to lead healthier lives.”

The Foundation also announced their future plans to partner local charities in a hope to expand the programme’s reach through the release of national campaigns.
