EFL match official Ruebyn Ricardo spent time with Sky Sports to explain the strategy and thought process behind decision-making during games.

Examples were shown from Port Vale's clash against Notts County in Sky Bet League Two, with Ruebyn joined by former footballer Luke Chambers and Sky Sports EFL presenter David Prutton.

When asked about how he approaches decisions as an official, Ruebyn told viewers: "We want to be nice and calm, and approachable. We don't want to go in there marching in and pointing fingers at people," he explained.

"It's important that even if the temperature of the game is up, our emotions at all times are in control."
