Wrexham have secured promotion from Sky Bet League One!
Following Wycombe Wanderers' defeat in the early kick-off, the Red Dragons knew that a victory over promotion rivals Charlton Athletic would secure a place in the top two and promotion to the Championship.
Two quickfire stunners from Ollie Rathbone and Sam Smith inside the first 20 minutes firmly set the tone, with the North Wales outfit in control from then on.
Smith added a third after the break to put the Addicks out of sight and send the whole of the STōK Racecourse wild.
Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney watched on from the stands. Under their ownership, Wrexham have made history, becoming the first Club to achieve three successive promotions in the top five tiers.
The result means Charlton will have to settle for a place in the Play-Offs alongside Stockport County and Wycombe Wanderers, with the final spot still up for grabs.
"I know it's the old cliché, but look at this [the fans on the pitch]. How do you put it into words?," explained Wrexham captain James McLean to Sky Sports.
"To go into the history books and be the captain and given the honour of leading that is incredible.
"You don't get success without a strong dressing room, and that doesn't just come from the dressing room, it comes from the management, the fans, our families, the staff behind the scenes - it's one big group effort."
Manager Phil Parkinson applauded owners Reynolds and McElhenney, saying: "They bought the club because of the passion for the club in the area.
"This will mean so much to those two, and they deserve it because they've let us manage. They've been brilliant.
"It doesn't happen often in football. They've let the manager pick the team, sign the players and have sat back and let us do our job, but still been involved.
"They've been outstanding for us and great to work for."
