Alex Cochrane’s brilliant long-range strike secured a 1-0 win at Stevenage, taking Sky Bet League One champions Birmingham City past the 100-point mark.  

The match highlighted a clash of styles—Birmingham’s patient build-up against Stevenage’s high-energy approach.

The hosts had the better first-half chances, with Jordan Roberts firing wide and Jamie Reid unable to convert Charlie Goode’s headed knockdown.

For Birmingham, Alfie May missed the target, while Taylor Gardner-Hickman wasted a close-range opportunity.  

After the break, the tempo increased, but chances grew scarcer.

Cochrane, introduced in the 72nd minute, made an instant impact, curling a superb left-footed effort into the net from outside the box just three minutes later.

Stevenage almost snatched a stoppage-time equaliser, but Harvey White’s effort was tipped behind by Ryan Allsop, ensuring Birmingham’s victory.
