Fantasy EFL: Who were the best performing players with 1% ownership and below in GW36?

In Fantasy EFL double gameweek 36, the top-five scorers all had less than 1% ownership! Double gameweek 37 sees every EFL side play across the Easter weekend, as managers get to look forward to 72 matches of drama unfold.

Here are some of the top scorers with very little ownership across the game, segmented by their positions, as we look ahead to another thriller.

Goalkeeper

Five keepers secured nine points for their backers, all keeping shutouts and picking up victories for their side, although just four of those had low ownership: Ryan Boot (G) of Chesterfield Town, Milwall’s Lukas Jensen (G), Matt Macey (G) of Colchester United and finally Lawrence Vigoroux (G) for Swansea City.

Defenders

Salford City’s Luke Garbutt (G) registered a remarkable 21-point haul across his side’s double gameweek. He managed to bag two goals (+14) alongside an abundance of defensive contributions. Only 1% of managers were able to reap the rewards of his promising display. No doubt he will be full of confidence heading into GW37 when they face Accrington Stanley (H) and Morecambe (A).

Two defenders secured the second best displays with Wycombe Wanderers Caleb Taylor (D) and Terrel Thomas (D) of Carlisle United both racking up a sizable 19 points. Both defenders were able to provide huge defensive contributions, whilst also posing an attacking threat, with both defenders securing goals (+7), and more importantly vital wins for their sides. Taylor’s ownership stood at 0% and Thomas’ was at just 0.1%.

Midfielders

Another Salford City asset wrote the headlines amongst the midfield assets, with Ossama Ashley (M) registering a huge 20 points, courtesy of his impressive interception rate across the double gameweek. The number four managed an excellent eight interceptions (+16) across the two ties, bringing his total interception tally to an astonishing 60 (+120), averaging 6.1 points in 29 matches.

Closely behind him was Lincoln City’s Tom Bayliss (M). The Imps middle man racked up an excellent 17 points, but only 0.1% of Fantasy EFL managers benefitted from his top display. He managed a goal (+6), four interceptions (+8), and two key passes (+1). His side travel to Reading before hosting Bolton Wanderers.

Forwards

The standout talisman in GW36 was Bradford City’s Calum Kavanagh (F). The striker managed to hit three past the Swindon Town number one, which meant he secured points for the hat-trick (+20), returning 24 total points, despite his side losing 5-4. His 0.1% ownership is expected to rise, as the Bantams face Notts County (H) and Chesterfield (A) in GW37.

Tranmere Rovers' Omari Patrick (F) and Port Vale's Lorent Tolaj (F) were not far behind him, with both forwards managing to register an impressive 17 points in GW36. Tolaj managed one assist (+3), two goals (+10), two key passes (+1) and two shots on target (+1) for Port Vale. Patrick recorded the exact same, and are both in good form in League Two.
