West Bromwich Albion have won eight of their last 12 league games against Coventry City (D2 L2) and won each of their last two.
Coventry have failed to score on seven of their last eight away league visits to West Brom – in the other game, they won 4-2 in December 2007.
Following a 2-0 defeat to Southampton in their last league game at the Hawthorns, West Brom are looking to avoid losing successive home league games for the first time since October 2022.
Coventry City have won four of their last six away league matches (D1 L1); they had only won two of their previous 13 away games (D5 L6).
Darnell Furlong’s equaliser for West Brom against Hull was their 13th goal from a set piece situation (ex. penalties) in the Championship this season, with only Cardiff (17) netting more.
Bristol City v Cardiff City
None of the last 14 league meetings between Bristol City and Cardiff City have ended as a draw (six wins for Bristol City, eight wins for Cardiff).
Cardiff have lost their last two away league games against Bristol City, last losing three in a row in February 1990.
Bristol City have picked up just four points in their last five home league games (W1 D1 L3), eight fewer than they did in their previous five at Ashton Gate (W4 L1).
Cardiff have lost three of their last four away league games (W1) and could lose three in a row for the first time since February last season.
Only against Hull (6) has Cardiff’s Karlan Grant scored more Championship goals than he has against Bristol City (4), though hasn’t netted in his last two such games against them.
Huddersfield Town v Leeds United
Huddersfield Town have lost their last three league games against Leeds United – they had won three in a row against their Yorkshire rivals before this.
Leeds have won three of their last four away league visits to Huddersfield (L1), losing the other 2-1 in 2016-17 under Garry Monk.
This is the eighth consecutive league meeting between Huddersfield and Leeds at the John Smith’s Stadium in which both sides have a different manager to the previous game: 2009-10 (Clark & Grayson), 2012-13 (Grayson & Warnock), 2013-14 (Robins & McDermott), 2014-15 (Powell & Redfearn), 2015-16 (Lillis & Evans), 2016-17 (Wagner & Monk) and 2019-20 (Cowley & Bielsa).
Leeds United are looking to win five consecutive away league matches for the first time since between February and April 2001 in the Premier League.
Only Ipswich (25) have won more points from losing positions than Leeds in the Championship this season (20).
Birmingham City v Southampton
Birmingham have won five of their last six home league games against Southampton (D1) although this is their first since February 2012, a 0-0 draw.
Southampton are looking for their first league double over Birmingham City since the 1985-86 top-flight campaign.
Birmingham have won their last two home league games, last winning three in a row back in March and April 2021 under Lee Bowyer.
Southampton have won nine away league games in the Championship this season – the Saints have only won 10+ away games in two campaigns in their league history: 12 in 2010-11 and 10 in 2011-12.
Southampton’s Adam Armstrong has scored six goals in his last four Championship games against Birmingham City. Overall he has seven goals against them in the competition, more than he has against any other opponent.
Leicester City v Queens Park Rangers
This is Leicester’s first home league game against QPR since the final day of the 2014-15 Premier League season, a game won 5-1 by the Foxes.
QPR have lost four of their last five league matches against Leicester City, winning the other 3-2 in November 2014.
After a run of just one defeat in 16 league matches (W12 D3), Leicester have lost each of their last two – outside of the top-flight they haven’t lost three in a row in the league since April 2013.
QPR have picked up six points in their last three away league games (L1), as many as they’d managed in their previous 10 on the road combined (W1 D3 L6).
Leicester’s Patson Daka has been involved in 11 goals in 12 Championship appearances this season (7 goals, 4 assists) – he has the best mins/goal involvement rate in the competition this season among players with at least 180 minutes (74 – 11 in 811 minutes).
Millwall v Watford
Millwall are unbeaten in their last three league games against Watford (W2 D1) since a 1-0 defeat in April 2021.
Watford lost their last league visit to Millwall last season but haven’t lost consecutive visits there since doing so in January 2003.
Millwall have only won two of their last 13 home league games (D4 L7), losing three of their last four at the Den (D1).
Watford have won five of their last nine away league matches (D3 L1), with only one of those wins coming with a clean sheet, winning 1-0 at Rotherham United.
Only Jonathan Rowe (14) and Abdul Fatawu (12) have been involved in more Championship goals this season while under the age of 21 than Watford’s Yáser Asprilla (11 – 6 goals, 5 assists), with the Colombian being involved in a goal in each of his last three league games (2 goals, 1 assist).
Norwich City v Sunderland
Norwich have lost their last three home league games against Sunderland – they had been unbeaten in their previous 10 at Carrow Road against the Black Cats (W7 D3).
Sunderland are looking to complete their first league double over Norwich City since the 1984-85 top-flight campaign.
Norwich City have won seven of their last nine home league games, including the last four in a row. The Canaries last won five in a row at Carrow Road in April 2019.
Sunderland have lost seven of their last 12 away league matches (W1 D4), including each of the last two. They haven’t lost more in a row since December 2019 (four).
Norwich have scored a direct free kick in each of their last two league games against Cardiff (Gabriel Sara) and Blackburn (Marcelino Núñez) – the last side to do so in three successive Championship games was Sheffield United in April 2008.
Plymouth Argyle v Ipswich Town
Plymouth Argyle have won their last two home league games against Ipswich – they haven’t won three in a row against them since 1955.
Ipswich are looking for their first league double over Plymouth since the 2020-21 campaign, when the two sides were in League One.
Plymouth have lost their last two home league games – they haven’t suffered three consecutive defeats at Home Park since May 2021.
Ipswich have won each of their previous four league games, scoring 13 goals in that run; the Tractor Boys haven’t won five consecutive games in the second tier since October 2003 under Joe Royle.
Plymouth have conceded two or more goals in 11 different home league games this season – in only two previous campaigns have they done so in 12+: 13 in 2008-09 and 12 in 2020-21.
Preston North End v Hull City
Preston North End have failed to score in any of their last three league matches against Hull (D2 L1) since a 1-0 win in February 2022.
Hull City are looking to complete a league double over Preston North End for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
Preston North End have won three of their last four home league matches (D1), more than across their previous nine at Deepdale (W2 D2 L5).
Hull are looking to win five consecutive away league games for the first time since April 1966.
Since the start of February, Preston have averaged 2.4 goals per game in the Championship (12 goals in five games), which is double what they were averaging in their first 29 games of the season (1.2 – 35 goals in total).
Rotherham United v Sheffield Wednesday
Rotherham have only won one of their last 14 home league games against Sheffield Wednesday (D3 L10), a 3-0 win in the Championship in October 2020.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking for their first league double over Rotherham United since the 2016-17 campaign.
Rotherham United are looking to avoid losing five consecutive home league matches for the first time since April 2021.
Sheffield Wednesday have won three of their previous four league games (L1) with the Owls last winning three consecutive Championship matches in September 2018 under Jos Luhukay.
Rotherham manager Leam Richardson has won just two of his last 19 home league games as a manager across spells with Wigan and the Millers (D5 L12), failing to score more than once in any of those games.
Stoke City v Middlesbrough
Stoke are looking to complete a league double over Middlesbrough for the first time since the 1993-94 campaign.
Middlesbrough have won two of their last 19 league visits to Stoke City (D7 L10), winning 2-1 in 1998 and 2-0 in 2020.
Stoke City have won just one of their last 10 home league games (D4 L5), scoring just three goals across these games.
Middlesbrough have kept just two clean sheets in their last 41 away league games – in the four away games prior to this run, they didn’t concede a single goal.
Stoke have lost six of their last seven Championship matches (W1), while only Rotherham (2) have earned fewer points in the division so far in 2024 than the Potters (7).
Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers
Swansea are looking to complete a league double over Blackburn Rovers for the first time in their history.
Blackburn won 3-0 away at Swansea in the Championship last season – they’ve never won consecutive league visits to the Swans in consecutive seasons.
Swansea have lost their last four home league games – only once before have the Swans lost more consecutively at home in the EFL, losing six between September and November 1957.
Blackburn Rovers won four consecutive away league games in October and November last year but have since picked up two points in eight away games (D2 L6).
Swansea’s Luke Williams has lost his opening four home league games as Swans boss. The last Championship manager to lose his first five home games at a club was Warren Joyce at Wigan in 2016-17.
