Defenders
Mickey Demetriou - Crewe Alexandra (vs Colchester United H)
Crewe Alexandra’s Mickey Demetriou (D) is a top option this week. His side host 18th-placed Colchester United in gameweek 20, who have struggled on the road. The centre-back managed his seventh double-digit display in his latest outing, where he secured 11 points courtesy of the clean sheet (+5), nine clearances (+3), two blocks (+1) and three tackles (+1) in 0-2 away victory at Grimsby Town. Another defensive masterclass would certainly be appreciated by his 12.3% of Fantasy EFL backers.
Jayden Bogle - Leeds United (vs Oxford United H)
The second defensive selection for captaincy is Leeds United’s Jayden Bogle (D). The full-back has racked up a considerable 116 points in Fantasy EFL and will be eager to provide another excellent display when his side hosts newly-promoted Oxford United at Elland Road in gameweek 20. The U’s have failed to keep a clean sheet in six matches, which suggests that Leeds could easily hit a few past the visitors. Leeds have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last two matches but are unbeaten at home in eight matches. A clean sheet return, alongside many defensive contributions and potentially attacking contributions makes Bogle a great candidate for captaincy.

Will Aimson - Wigan Athletic (vs Shrewsbury Town H)
The last of the defensive assets is Wigan Athletic’s Will Aimson (D). The Latics centre-half has played a pivotal role to their defensive success this season, accumulating 127 points in Fantasy. His side host Shrewsbury Town in Gameweek 20, which is a fixture they are certainly expected to win. In gameweek 19, Aimson managed a solid 11-point haul thanks to a clean sheet (+5), 12 clearances (+4) and 90 minutes played (+2). With ownership of just 0.9%, Aimson could prove to be an excellent differential pick.
Midfielders
Gustavo Hamer - Sheffield United (vs Cardiff City A)
Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer (M) is an excellent shout this week. The talented playmaker has been in excellent form this season, managing an impressive 28 points in his last three matches for the Blades. Hamer travels to Wales to take on Cardiff City away from home, a fixture that should play perfectly into the strengths of the midfielder, who has managed five goals (+30), five assists (+15) and an excellent 14 interceptions (+28). Providing him the armband for gameweek 20 seems a great option, with a double-digit haul certainly on the cards!
Finn Azaz - Middlesbrough (vs Plymouth Argyle A)
Middlesbrough’s Finn Azaz (M) is the standout player we feel could wear your GW20 armband when they face Plymouth Argyle (A). The Pilgrims have struggled under Wayne Rooney, managing to pick up some great results, whilst also suffering some heavy defeats. Whereas, Boro are an incredibly attacking side and this is courtesy of Azaz who has been pulling all the strings in the middle of the park for them. An away side victory is certainly expected in this one and if that is the case, then Azaz is remarkably likely to play an influential role. Azaz has managed six goals (+30) and nine assists (+27) this season and will be eager to extend both tallies at Home Park in GW20.
Josh Brownhill - Burnley (vs Watford H)
Burnley's captain, Josh Brownhill (M), has secured a spot in this week's midfield captaincy picks. As the Clarets host Watford at Turf Moor, Brownhill is poised to play a pivotal role. While Watford has been impressive at home, their away form is less convincing. This suggests a potential Burnley victory, but Brownhill will need to be at his best to contain Watford's attacking threat. His high interception potential and attacking contributions make him a strong candidate for the captaincy armband. With 131 points already accumulated in Fantasy EFL and a popularity of 17.3%, Brownhill is definitely worth considering for your team this week.
Forwards
Louie Barry - Stockport County (vs Peterborough United H)
Stockport County’s talisman, Louie Barry (F) has emerged as another top pick for the upcoming gameweek, with his side set to host Peterborough United. Barry has been crucial to his side’s success, managing an outstanding 14 goals (+70) and one assist (+3) in 20 appearances for the Hatters. His overall returns of 129 points is reflected in his ownership, which currently stands at a significant 10.3%. The Posh have shipped 35 goals this season, the second-worst record in the division.

Jay Stansfield - Birmingham City (vs Crawley Town A)
Birmingham City's forward, Jay Stansfield (F), is a significant force in Fantasy EFL. His recent penalty conversion against Bristol Rovers, securing a 2-0 victory, is further proof of his attacking prowess. With 10 goals and 2 assists in just 13 appearances, Stansfield's impact is undeniable. Despite his impressive performances, his ownership remains relatively low at 4.3%, making him a potential differential pick. Birmingham's upcoming match against Crawley Town (A) appears favourable, offering Stansfield an opportunity to add to his goal tally.
Emmanuel Latte Lath - Middlesbrough (vs Plymouth Argyle A)
Middlesbrough's in-form striker, Emmanuel Latte Lath (F), is the final player we're highlighting as a potential captaincy pick for Gameweek 20. His recent goal against Millwall further solidified his reputation as a prolific scorer. As Boro travel to Home Park to face Plymouth Argyle, Lath's confidence is sky-high. Given Middlesbrough's impressive away form, including their 2-6 win against Oxford United and 1-4 victory at QPR, a high-scoring match is on the cards. Lath's potential to replicate or even surpass his 22-point haul from Gameweek 16 makes him a compelling captaincy choice for Gameweek 20.
