EFL Championship referee Keith Stroud continued his fantastic support of Cerebral Palsy Football this month following his selection to officiate at the 2023 IFCPF Asia-Oceania Championships, which are underway in Melbourne, Australia.

Hosted at the 'Home of the Matildas', the 2023 tournament is the first time the Men’s and Women’s tournaments are taking place concurrently with five men’s teams and three women’s teams participating from the Asia-Pacific region.

Stroud's involvement in CP Football stretches back to 2010, with his selection for this tournament coming a year after officiating the opening match and the final of the 2022 IFCPF Men's World Championships.

Previously, Stroud - who will will return to refereeing duties in England following the conclusion of the tournament - also had the honour of refereeing the 2012 Cerebral Palsy Paralympics Final in London.

Speaking after the 2022 IFCPF Men's World Championships, he said: “Back in 2010 The Football Association were looking for referees to officiate CP football and a very good friend of mine has Cerebral Palsy so it is very close to my heart.

“I wanted to put something back into football and do something different, so I put my name forward and I have never looked back since. It is something that I love doing, it’s a great experience and I am very honoured to represent my country.”
