Sky Bet League One: Post-final day stat pack

7 May 2023

Here are some post-match stats from the final round of Sky Bet League One fixtures this season...

  • Plymouth Argyle secured the League One title with a haul of 101 points from their 46 games; only the second time in the Club’s history that they have won 100+ points in a league campaign, after the 2001/02 season in the fourth tier (champions with 102).
  • Ipswich Town ended the season with 101 goals in League One; the most by a team in a third tier season since MK Dons in 2014/15 (101). Indeed, it was the first time the Tractor Boys have netted 100+ goals in a league season since 1960/61 under Alf Ramsey.
  • MK Dons suffered their third relegation within the last eight EFL campaigns (2015/16, 2017/18 and 2022/23), with the last two both coming in the third tier with the same record across 46 games in terms of results – W11, D12, L23.
  • Since joining Peterborough United ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, Jonson Clarke-Harris has scored more league goals than any other player in the top four tiers of English football (69).
  • Derby County defender Curtis Davies was sent off in a league match for the first time in over a decade, since being dismissed for Birmingham City against Cardiff City in December 2011 – today was his 362nd league appearance since the first of the two dismissals.
