Take a look ahead to the weekend in the Sky Bet Championship with our pre-match stat pack!

Blackpool v Coventry City

  • Blackpool are looking to complete only their second league double over Coventry City this century, also doing so in 2018-19.
  • Coventry have won two of their last three league visits to Blackpool (L1), one more than in their first 12 games there (W1 D1 L10).
  • Blackpool’s last five league games at Bloomfield Road played on Saturdays have produced just two goals, a 1-0 defeat to Luton and 1-0 win over Stoke; the other three ended goalless.
  • Viktor Gyökeres has scored in his two Championship starts against Blackpool for Coventry, netting the winner in a 1-0 win in August 2021 and the equaliser in a 1-1 draw in February 2022.
  • Blackpool manager Mick McCarthy has never lost a home league match against Coventry City in his managerial career (W5 D1), winning the last five in a row.

Middlesbrough v Preston North End

  • Middlesbrough have lost their last three league games against Preston North End, their worst losing run against them since December 1953 (also three in a row).
  • Preston are looking for consecutive away league wins against Middlesbrough for the first time since September 1928.
  • Middlesbrough have won nine of their last 11 league games played on Saturdays (L2), winning the last six in a row at the Riverside Stadium. They last had a longer Saturday home league winning run between April and September 1991 (seven in a row).
  • Preston have won three of their last five Championship games against teams starting the day in the top-six of the division (D1 L1), beating Norwich in October, Swansea in November and Blackburn in December.
  • Preston’s Emil Riis has scored five goals in five Championship appearances against Middlesbrough, scoring the winner in last season’s game between the teams at the Riverside in a 2-1 win.

Millwall v Huddersfield Town

  • None of the last nine league meetings between Millwall and Huddersfield Town at the Den have ended as draws (five Millwall wins, four Huddersfield wins).
  • Huddersfield Town are looking for their first league double over Millwall since the 2014-15 season, having beaten them 1-0 earlier this campaign.
  • No team has won more Championship matches on Saturdays this season than Millwall (13, level with Burnley), winning four of their last five Saturday games (L1).
  • Huddersfield Town have lost their last four away league games – outside of the Premier League, the Terriers haven’t lost five in a row since October 2007 when they were in League One.
  • Huddersfield manager Neil Warnock has won one of his last five league visits to Millwall (D2 L2), a 2-0 win with Middlesbrough in the 2019-20 campaign.

QPR v Birmingham City

  • QPR have only lost one of their last nine home league games against Birmingham City (W5 D3), a 4-3 defeat in February 2019.
  • Birmingham are looking for their first league double over QPR since the 2006-07 season under Steve Bruce.
  • QPR won 1-0 against Watford in their last home league game, picking up more points in that game (3) than in their previous nine home games (2 – D2 L7). They last won consecutive home games in October, a run of three.
  • Birmingham have lost their last three away league games in London, conceding 11 goals. They are winless in nine games in London (D4 L5) since a 1-0 win over Charlton in September 2019.
  • Ilias Chair has been involved in four goals in five Championship appearances against Birmingham City for QPR, scoring three goals and assisting once.

Reading v Hull City

  • Reading are looking to complete a league double over Hull for the first time since the 1986-87 season, having won 2-1 earlier this season.
  • Hull are winless in their last four league visits to Reading (D3 L1) since winning 2-1 in April 2016.
  • Reading have lost their last two home league games, losing 1-0 against both Sheffield United and Millwall. They last lost more in a row on home soil in January and February 2022, losing four consecutively.
  • Since a run of five wins across seven away league games between October and January, Hull are winless in five Championship matches on the road (D2 L3), scoring just two goals.
  • Reading have failed to score in their last two home league games, last going three in a row without a goal in January and February 2018.

Rotherham United v Cardiff City

  • Rotherham are winless in six league games against Cardiff (D2 L4) since a 2-1 home win in the 2015-16 campaign.
  • Cardiff have won three of their last four league visits to Rotherham United (L1), winning each of their last two at the New York Stadium.
  • Only Huddersfield Town and Watford (four each) have won fewer Saturday matches in the Championship this season than Rotherham United (five).
  • Cardiff City have failed to score in 12 of their last 17 away league games and have lost five of their last six on the road (W1), failing to score in every defeat.
  • Across spells with Nottingham Forest and Cardiff, Sabri Lamouchi has won just one of his last 12 away Championship matches (D4 L7), losing seven of the last eight on the road (W1).

Stoke City v Norwich City

  • Stoke City have lost their last three league matches against Norwich City, having not lost any of their previous five against the Canaries.
  • Following a 3-2 win over Stoke in their last away league game there, Norwich are looking for consecutive away wins against the Potters for the first time.
  • Stoke have won three of their last five home league games (D1 L1), scoring at least three times in each victory. They are looking for consecutive home wins for the first time since April 2022.
  • Norwich manager David Wagner has failed to beat Stoke in his two previous league meetings with the Potters, drawing at home and losing away in the 2017-18 Premier League campaign at Huddersfield.
  • Stoke manager Alex Neil has only won one of his seven league games against Norwich City since leaving the club (W1 D3 L3) and has lost twice against them this season already (one with Sunderland, one with Stoke). The last manager to lose three games against a club in a Championship season was Paul Heckingbottom in 2017-18 (vs both Fulham and Aston Villa).

Sunderland v Luton Town

  • Sunderland are unbeaten in their last eight league matches against Luton Town (W4 D4) since a 3-0 defeat in December 1994.
  • Luton are winless in 14 league visits to Sunderland (D5 L9) since a 1-0 win there in September 1973.
  • Tony Mowbray is unbeaten in his last five league games against Luton Town (W1 D4), although the last three have been drawn, including earlier this season with Sunderland, a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road.
  • Luton are unbeaten in their last seven away league matches (W5 D2) since losing 2-1 to Middlesbrough in December.
  • Luton Town have won 10 away league games this season, their most ever away wins a season within the top-two tiers of English football. They last won more in a league season in 2018-19 in League One (11).

Watford v Wigan Athletic

  • Watford have won their last three league matches against Wigan Athletic, winning both games in 2014-15 and the reverse fixture this season.
  • Wigan have never won an away league game against Watford in six previous visits to Vicarage Road (D3 L3).
  • Watford have won just four of their last 25 league matches played on Saturdays (D9 L12) and have won the joint-fewest Saturday games in the Championship this season (four, level with Huddersfield).
  • Wigan Athletic have lost their last three away league matches, last losing four in a row between October and December 2020 (a run of five defeats).
  • Watford boss Chris Wilder has a 100% league winning record against Wigan, beating them in his two previous meetings in the 2018-19 campaign with Sheffield United.

Swansea City v Bristol City

  • Swansea City have lost one of their last seven league games against Bristol City (W3 D3), losing 3-1 at home in February 2021.
  • Bristol City lost 3-1 at Swansea last season and could lose consecutive league visits to the Swans for the first time since a run of nine defeats between 1930 and 1960.
  • Swansea City have lost five of their last eight home Championship matches (W2 D1), keeping just four clean sheets in their last 23 at the Liberty Stadium.
  • Bristol City have lost seven of their last 10 away Championship games against fellow ‘City’ sides (W1 D2), their one win in this sequence coming at Stoke City in April last season.
  • Nigel Pearson has won one of his six away league matches against Swansea City (D2 L3), a 3-1 win with Bristol City in 2020-21. His first away game at the Swans came back in February 1999 when he was Carlisle United manager, at their old stadium Vetch Field.
