The December nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award are:
Conor Chaplin (Ipswich Town) – striker
Playing as a slightly withdrawn striker is bringing out the crafty best in Chaplin, whose four goals and an assist in five games included a glancing header, two confidently driven finishes and a vital poached late equaliser at Portsmouth.
Dion Charles (Bolton Wanderers) - striker
Opposing defenders are always glad when games against Charles are over because he gives them no peace on the pitch with his energy and running. His four goals in five games included a delicate lobbed equaliser against Bristol Rovers.
Cameron Dawson (Sheffield Wednesday) – goalkeeper
After waiting for his chance, Dawson responded by conceding just one goal in three games. He made superb, pivotal stops against Fleetwood and Port Vale and capped a fine display against Oxford by saving a last-minute penalty.
Dan Scarr (Plymouth Argyle) – central defender
The stats tell their own story. Argyle conceded twice against Port Vale without Scarr, but just once in four games after he returned from injury. The defensive rock in the middle of a back three, he wins every header and even scored the winner against Wycombe.
