Sky Bet Championship: Pre-match stat pack

27 January 2023

There are three Sky Bet Championship fixtures on the way this weekend and here's all you need to know...

Coventry City v Huddersfield Town

  • Coventry are winless in their last four league matches against Huddersfield (D3 L1), with their last win against the Terriers coming back in April 1972 in the top-flight.
  • Following a 2-1 win against Coventry last April in their most recent league meeting, Huddersfield are looking for consecutive league wins over the Sky Blues since a five-game run between 1919 and 1965.
  • Coventry City are without a win in each of their last five Championship matches (D2 L3), losing the last two in a row. However, on home soil, the Sky Blues have scored in 10 of their last 11 in league competition (W5 D4 L2).
  • Huddersfield have won seven points from their last four away games in the Championship (W2 D1 L1), five more than they’d won in their first eight such matches of the season (D2 L6).
  • Since the start of last season, Viktor Gyökeres has been directly involved in 36 league goals (29 goals, 7 assists), 17 more than any other Coventry City player in this period.

Hull City v QPR

  • Hull have lost their last two home league matches against QPR, having been unbeaten in their previous 11 home games against the Hoops.
  • Queens Park Rangers are looking for their first league double over Hull City since the 1969-70 season under manager Les Allen.
  • Only Wigan (49) have conceded more goals in the Championship this season than Hull (44), while the Tigers have shipped a league-high 13 goals via set pieces (excluding penalties).
  • QPR have only lost one of their six league games under Neil Critchley (W1 D4 L1), although four of these have ended level. It’s the first time a QPR manager has drawn four of his first six league games in charge since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in January 2016 (D4 L2).
  • Hull have won just one of their last 11 home league games (D3 L7) and are winless in their last seven in a row (D3 L4).

Middlesbrough v Watford

  • Middlesbrough are winless in their last 10 league games against Watford (D4 L6) since a 2-1 away win back in October 2012.
  • Watford haven’t lost any of their last five away league matches against Middlesbrough (W2 D3) since losing 1-0 back in November 2011 under Sean Dyche.
  • Only Burnley (17) have won more points from losing positions in the Championship this season than Middlesbrough (15).
  • Watford have lost just one of their last six away games in the Championship (W4 D1), having won just one of their previous 12 away league games across the first and second tier (D4 L7).
  • No Championship side has used more players this season than Watford, who have fielded 34 different players across the campaign.
