Blackburn Rovers v Blackpool

  • Blackburn have lost just one of their last 10 league games against Blackpool (W5 D4), losing 2-1 away from home last season.
  • Blackpool are winless in their last seven league visits to Blackburn (D4 L3) since a 2-1 win back in September 1977.
  • Blackburn have lost two of their three league games against fellow Lancashire sides this season (W1); they last lost more in a single campaign in 1978-79 (four).
  • Blackpool have lost each of their previous three away league games, and could lose four in a row as a Championship side for the first time since February 2015, though that run came to end against Blackburn with a 1-1 draw on that occasion.
  • Blackburn’s Sammie Szmodics have been involved in four goals in his four previous league appearances against Blackpool (3 goals, 1 assist), including netting a brace against them in his final home league game for Peterborough in May 2022.

Millwall v Burnley

  • Millwall are winless in their last five league games against Burnley (D2 L3), losing 2-0 against the Clarets earlier this season.
  • Burnley are looking for their first league double over Millwall since the 1998-99 campaign when both sides were in the third tier.
  • Millwall have only won one of their last nine league games in midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), drawing four of them (L4), while they’ve failed to score in each of their last three such fixtures.
  • Burnley won their only other away league game in London this season, beating QPR 3-0 in December – not since a run of three victories in the Premier League between June and December 2020 have the Clarets won successive such games in the capital.
  • Millwall manager Gary Rowett is yet to beat Burnley in the Football League (D1 L2), only against Bournemouth (P5 D2 L3) and Sunderland (P4 D2 L2) has he faced a side more often without winning.

Norwich City v Birmingham City

  • Norwich have won each of their last four league games against Birmingham and are unbeaten in their last eight such fixtures overall (W7 D1).
  • Birmingham have lost each of their last four Football League trips to Norwich; they last lost five in a row in September 1978.
  • Norwich beat Hull 3-1 in their previous league game at Carrow Road, ending a run of six league games without a win there (D2 L4); they last won successive games there in September.
  • Birmingham have won only one of their last 15 league games in midweek, losing eight of them (D6); their only win in that time came away though to West Brom in September of this season (3-2).
  • Norwich’s Teemu Pukki has been involved in four goals in his last four league appearances against Birmingham (3 goals, 1 assist), with the Finn providing the winner for Onel Hernández’s 90th minute winner in the reverse fixture.

Rotherham United v Sunderland

  • Rotherham United have won just one of their last 12 league games against Sunderland (D4 L7), though it came at the New York Stadium last season in League One, a 5-1 win.
  • This is Sunderland’s first league visit to Rotherham in the Championship since October 2004, when the Black Cats won 1-0 with a goal from Dean Whitehead.
  • Rotherham have failed to score in their last two home league games – the Millers last failed to score in three consecutive home games in April 2017 (run of four).
  • Sunderland are unbeaten on the road in their last eight Championship games (W4 D4) – not since December 1998 have the Black Cats enjoyed a longer such run in the top two tiers of English football (13 games).
  • Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has only lost one of his previous seven Football League meetings with Rotherham (W3 D3) and could beat the Millers home and away for the first time in his career.

Swansea City v Stoke City

  • Swansea City have won none of their last three league games against Stoke (D1 L2) since a 2-1 victory against them in March 2021.
  • The last eight league meetings between Swansea and Stoke at Liberty Stadium have alternated between a Swansea win and Stoke win – the Potters won 3-1 last season.
  • Following a 2-1 win over Blackpool in their last home league game, Swansea could win successive such games for the first time since a run of four victories between September/October earlier this campaign.
  • Stoke have only won one of their last five away league games in Wales (D1 L3), though that came in this exact fixture last season (3-1) – each of their last four league victories in Wales have been against Swansea.
  • Swansea striker Joël Piroe has two goals in his three league appearances against Stoke, netting in this exact fixture last season.
