Take a look ahead to this Easter weekend in the Sky Bet Championship with our pre-match stat pack!

Millwall v Luton Town

  • Millwall have lost one of their last 10 league games against Luton Town (W3 D6), a 2-0 home defeat last season.
  • Luton are looking to win consecutive away league visits to Millwall for the first time since a run of three between 1996 and 1999.
  • Millwall have lost two of their last three league games at the Den (W1), as many as in their previous 19 (W12 D5) – not since April 2021 have the Lions lost successive home league fixtures.
  • Luton are unbeaten on the road in the Championship in their last eight games (W5 D3); only in November 1981 have the Hatters enjoyed a longer such run in the second tier (10 games).
  • No side have kept more clean sheets in the Championship this season than Luton (17 – level with Burnley and Coventry), doing so in five of their last seven games. Each of the Hatters’ last eight league victories have been to nil.

Rotherham United v West Bromwich Albion

  • Rotherham United have lost their last three league games against West Bromwich Albion, losing 3-0 at the Hawthorns earlier this season.
  • West Brom have won three of their four away league matches against Rotherham (L1), with their last visit to the New York Stadium a 4-0 win in December 2018.
  • Rotherham have won only two of their previous 21 Football League fixtures on Good Friday (D7 L12), with both victories coming against AFC Wimbledon in League Two in 2012 (2-1) and 2013 (1-0).
  • West Brom have won each of their last three Football League games on Good Friday, as many victories as in their first 34 such fixtures.
  • Six of Daryl Dike’s seven Championship goals this season have come since the turn of the year, only Chuba Akpom (13), Tom Bradshaw (10) and Nathan Tella (9) have more in 2023.

Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City

  • Blackburn Rovers are looking to complete a league double over Norwich City for the first time since the 1969-70 season.
  • Norwich have won their last four away league games against Blackburn – they had only won one of their first 17 trips to Ewood Park.
  • Blackburn are unbeaten at home in their previous six league games at Ewood Park (W5 D1), with only Burnley (48) earning more points on home soil in the Championship in 2022-23 than Rovers (40).
  • Norwich have failed to win any of their last four Football League games on Good Friday (D2 L2) since a 1-0 away win against Brighton in 2015.
  • Each of the last two goals Blackburn have conceded have come from outside the box – indeed, no side in the Championship has conceded more such goals than Rovers (13 – level with Hull).

Blackpool v Cardiff City

  • Blackpool have won just two of their last 16 league games against Cardiff City (D6 L8) and are winless in their last four (D2 L2).
  • Following a 2-0 away win last season, Cardiff are looking to win consecutive league visits to Blackpool for the first time.
  • 12 goals have been scored in Blackpool’s last two league games at Bloomfield Road, beating QPR 6-1 before losing 4-1 to Coventry; it’s just one fewer than the Seasiders’ previous eight games there (13 goals – 5F 8A).
  • Cardiff have lost five of their last six away league games (W1), while the Bluebirds have failed to score in more away games in the Championship in 2022-23 than any other side (12).
  • Since Mick McCarthy’s first game in charge of Blackpool in February, only QPR have lost more games (8), conceded more goals (23) and won fewer points (4) than the Seasiders (7 games lost, 21 goals conceded, 9 points won).

Queens Park Rangers v Preston North End

  • QPR have won four of their last seven league matches against Preston North End (D1 L2) and won 1-0 earlier this campaign at Deepdale.
  • Preston lost 3-2 at QPR last season but haven’t lost consecutive league visits to the Hoops since a run of three defeats between 2008 and 2010.
  • QPR have won just one of their previous 11 home league games (D2 L8), including four defeats in their last five (W1).
  • Preston have won only one of their last five away league games (D2 L2), failing to score on four occasions, and could lose successive games on the road for the first time since April 2022 (run of three).
  • Tom Cannon has been involved in five of Preston’s last eight goals in the Championship (4 goals, 1 assist), with only Ched Evans (10) involved in more goals for the Lilywhites this season than his five.

Reading v Birmingham City

  • Reading won 2-1 against Birmingham City at home last season, last winning consecutive home league games against the Blues in September 2013.
  • Since a goalless draw in May 2019, the last seven league games between Reading and Birmingham have seen 26 goals scored with both teams finding the net in each game.
  • Reading are without a win in three home league games (D1 L2); the Royals haven’t had a longer run since going 10 games without a victory between October 2021 and February 2022 (D3 L7).
  • Birmingham beat QPR 1-0 in their previous away league game and could win successive such games for only the second time in 2022-23, having also done so in September when they beat Preston (1-0) and West Brom (3-2).
  • Reading (49% - 20/41) and Birmingham (44% - 19/43) are two of the four sides in the Championship this season to have scored the highest proportion of their goals from set pieces (inc. penalties), with Millwall (50%) and Wigan (44%) making up the top four.

Sheffield United v Wigan Athletic

  • Sheffield United have won their last three league games against Wigan Athletic, their best winning run against the Latics.
  • This is Wigan’s first league visit to Sheffield United since October 2018, when they lost 4-2 under Paul Cook.
  • Sheffield United have lost two of their last three league games at Bramall Lane (W1), as many defeats as their previous 17 games there (W12 D3).
  • Wigan have won each of their last three Football League games on Good Friday, however the Latics are without a win in any of their previous 14 away league matches since beating Rotherham 2-0 in October (D6 L8).
  • Three of Sheffield United’s last six Championship goals have been scored by James McAtee, after netting only three of the Blades’ first 53 goals of the competition this season.

Stoke City v Bristol City

  • Stoke are looking to complete a league double over Bristol City for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign.
  • Bristol City have won their last four away league matches against Stoke City – they’d only won three of their first 23 visits before this.
  • Stoke have lost only one of their previous six home league games (W3 D2 L1), while across their last eight such games, the Potters have either failed to score (5 games – D2 L3) or scored 3+ goals (3 games – W3).
  • Bristol City are without a goal in their last four away league games (D1 L3); the Robins last endured a longer run in the Football League in March 2012 (run of six).
  • No defender in the Championship this season has more goals than Stoke’s Ki-Jana Hoever (4), with all five of his goal involvements for the Potters this season coming in his last four games (1 assist also).

Swansea City v Cardiff City

  • Swansea haven’t lost any of their last 14 league matches against Coventry (W7 D7) since a 3-1 away defeat in October 1981.
  • Coventry City have won none of their last 10 away league games against Swansea (D4 L6), with their last win there coming in January 1950.
  • More goals have been scored at the Swansea.com Stadium than any other ground in the Championship this season (58), with Swansea scoring 30 and conceding 28. Indeed, the last eight games there have averaged 3.6 goals per game.
  • Coventry are unbeaten in their last five away league games (W3 D2), scoring as many goals in that run (11) as in their previous 13 such games.
  • No side has seen more goals scored in the 90th minute of their Championship games this season than Swansea (9 – 2 scored, 7 conceded), with Ben Cabango netting a 99th minute winner for the Swans last time out against Cardiff.

Watford v Huddersfield Town

  • Watford have won four of their last five league games against Huddersfield Town, losing the other game 2-0 in December 2020.
  • Huddersfield have lost their last two away league visits to Watford since winning 4-1 in the Premier League in December 2017.
  • Since a 2-0 defeat to Millwall on Boxing Day, Watford are unbeaten in their last seven league games at Vicarage Road (W3 D4); the Hornets having started a calendar year with a longer unbeaten run since 1978 (13 games).
  • Huddersfield beat Millwall 1-0 in their last away league game – not since April 2022 under Carlos Corberan have the Terriers won successive fixtures on their travels (run of three).
  • Danny Ward has been involved in more goals for Huddersfield since the appointment of Neil Warnock than any other player (3 – 1 goal, 2 assists), with his two assists last time out against Middlesbrough his most in a league game since November 2015 for Rotherham (also 2).

Sunderland v Hull City

  • Sunderland haven’t lost any of their last eight league games against Hull (W3 D5) since a 3-1 home defeat on Boxing Day in 2014.
  • The last three league meetings between Sunderland and Hull have ended as draws, the longest run of consecutive draws in this fixture in the Football League.
  • Only Barrow (5) have a longer ongoing winning run of Football League games on Good Friday than Sunderland (4), netting 12 goals across those four victories.
  • After going unbeaten in seven successive away league games between October 2022 and January 2023 (W5 D2), Hull are winless in their last six such games (D3 L3).
  • Only Charlton’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Miles Leaburn (both 11) have scored more goals while aged 20 and under in the Football League this season than Amad Diallo (9), with the Ivorian netting in his last league game at the Stadium of Light against Luton.

Middlesbrough v Burnley

  • This is the first league meeting between Middlesbrough and Burnley at the Riverside Stadium since April 2017 in the Premier League, a goalless draw.
  • Burnley are looking to complete a league double over Middlesbrough for the first time since the 1953-54 campaign.
  • Middlesbrough have won eight of their previous nine league games at the Riverside Stadium (D1), scoring 3+ goals in five of those games, including their most recent such one against Preston (4-0).
  • Since a 5-2 defeat to Sheffield United in November, Burnley have won six of their last eight away league games (D2), conceding only three goals during that run.
  • Marcus Forss has reached 10 league goals for Middlesbrough this season, just one shy of his best return in a single Football League campaign (11 with AFC Wimbledon in 2019-20), with both him and Chuba Akpom (25 goals) the first pair to reach double figures in a season since 2019-20 (Ashley Fletcher and Britt Assombalonga both 11).
