Here is your Sky Bet Championship scoop ahead of a full midweek schedule!

Blackpool v West Bromwich Albion

  • Blackpool are unbeaten in their last two home games against West Brom in the Football League (W1 D1) and are looking to go three such games without defeat for the first time since November 1965.
  • West Brom have won their last two league meetings with Blackpool, keeping a clean sheet in their most recent encounter. The Baggies are looking to win consecutive such games without conceding in this fixture for the first time since November 1908 (run of 4).
  • Blackpool’s last league game on a Tuesday was a 6-1 hammering of QPR, scoring as many goals in that game as they managed in their 10 league games played on a Tuesday.
  • West Bromwich Albion have won their last two Tuesday league matches, beating Blackpool and Wigan. They last won three in a row on Tuesdays between December 2006 and October 2007.

  • Burnley have lost nine of their last 10 away league matches against teams with United as their suffix (D1) since a 1-0 win at West Ham United in July 2020.

Sheffield United v Bristol City

  • Sheffield United are unbeaten in their last three Football League meetings with Bristol City (W2 D1) since a 2-3 home defeat in March 2019.
  • Bristol City have won three of their last four away league games against Sheffield United (L1), although that defeat came in their most recent such match, via a 2-0 loss in November 2021.
  • Sheffield United’s last five league games on Tuesdays have all ended 1-0 – they’ve won three (vs Swansea, Bristol City and Reading) and lost two (vs QPR and Rotherham).
  • Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson is winless in his last four away league games in Sheffield against United and Wednesday (D2 L2), since a 2-0 win at Hillsborough in November 2012.
  • Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp has scored three goals in his last five league appearances against Bristol City, netting in his last two against the Robins at Bramall Lane.

Stoke City v Wigan Athletic

  • Stoke have lost just one of their last four Football League games against Wigan (W2 D1), a 0-3 defeat to the Latics in June 2020.
  • Wigan have lost just one of their last six away league meetings with Stoke (W2 D3), although that was in their most recent encounter via a 2-1 loss in November 2019.
  • Stoke have picked up 10 points in their three league games played on Tuesdays this season (W3 D1 L1), winning two of the last three (D1).
  • Wigan have won none of their last seven midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league games (D2 L5) since a 1-0 win over Blackburn in October.
  • Stoke manager Alex Neil has won his last four league matches against Wigan Athletic, a run that spans his time as Preston, Sunderland and Potters manager.

Sunderland v Huddersfield Town

  • Sunderland are unbeaten in their last nine league games against Huddersfield (W7 D2), winning each of the last two while also keeping clean sheets. The Black Cats are looking to win three successive such games against the Terriers without conceding for the very first time.
  • Huddersfield are winless in their last nine away Football League meetings with Sunderland (D1 L8) since a 2-1 victory in September 1960.
  • Sunderland have only lost four of their last 26 league games on a Tuesday (W11 D11) and have drawn three of their last four (W1) since a 3-1 defeat to Lincoln in January 2022.
  • Huddersfield have won two of their last 13 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league games (D4 L7), beating QPR and Rotherham in November and December this season respectively.
  • Neil Warnock last faced Sunderland in a league match in the 2017-18 campaign with Cardiff City, winning both games including a 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light.

Millwall v Bristol City

  • Millwall are unbeaten in their last eight league games against Birmingham (W3 D5), keeping five clean sheets during this run.
  • Birmingham are winless in their last three away visits to Millwall in the Football League (D1 L2) since a 2-0 victory in November 2018 under Garry Monk.
  • Millwall have lost just two of their last 16 home league matches played on Tuesdays (W6 D8), losing to Fulham in August 2021 and Swansea in April 2022.

Blackburn Rovers v Coventry City

  • Coventry are unbeaten in their last four away visits to Blackburn in the Football League (W1 D3), after losing their previous four such matches against Rovers.
  • Blackburn have won five of their last six home midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league matches, losing the other 2-1 to Middlesbrough earlier this season.

Queens Park Rangers v Norwich City

  • Norwich's David Wagner is unbeaten in all three Championship meetings with Queens Park Rangers, winning two and drawing one, all with Huddersfield Town.

Swansea City v Preston North End

  • Swansea have lost just one of their last 20 home league games against Preston (W14 D5), a 0-1 loss in April 2021 under Steve Cooper.
  • Preston have won three of their last four meetings with Swansea in the Football League (L1), one more victory than they managed in their previous 16 league meetings against them.
  • Swansea City have won eight of their last 11 league matches played on Wednesdays (D2 L1), winning five of their last six (D1).
  • Preston North End have won eight of their last 13 league games played on Wednesdays (D3 L2) although are winless in their last two (D1 L1).
  • Swansea City are unbeaten in their last 10 home league games played on Wednesdays (W4 D6) winning four of their last five (D1).

Watford v Cardiff City

  • Watford have won five of their last six league matches against Cardiff (L1), scoring 2+ goals against the Bluebirds in all five such victories.
  • Cardiff won their most recent visit to Watford in the Football League (1-0 in December 2020) and are looking to win consecutive away matches against the Hornets for the first time since October 1934.
  • Watford have lost three of their last four home league matches played on Wednesdays (D1) since a 2-0 win over Wycombe in March 2021.
  • This is the fifth consecutive league meeting between Watford and Cardiff to see both teams have a different manager in charge – February 2019 (Gracia and Warnock), December 2020 (Ivic and Harris), March 2021 (Xisco and McCarthy) and November 2022 (Bilic and Hudson).
  • Chris Wilder has already lost at home against Cardiff once this season in the Championship, losing 3-2 as Middlesbrough manager in September 2022.

Middlesbrough v Hull City

  • Middlesbrough have won just one of their last five league meetings with Hull (D1 L3), although the victory was in their most recent encounter via a 3-1 win in November last year.
  • Hull are unbeaten in their last two away matches against Middlesbrough in the Football League (W1 D1) and are looking to go three consecutive such matches without defeat to Boro for the first time.
  • Middlesbrough have won seven of their last 10 league matches played on Wednesdays (D2 L1), winning the last three in a row.
  • Hull City have won their last three away league games played on a Wednesday, with one of those coming this season (3-1 vs Blackpool).
  • Middlesbrough have only failed to score in one of their last 28 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league matches, a 1-0 home defeat to Fulham in April 2022.

Reading v Luton Town

  • Reading have won four of their last five home league matches against Luton, losing the most recent encounter. The Royals are looking to avoid consecutive home league defeats against Luton for the very first time.
  • Luton are unbeaten in their last four Football League meetings with Reading (W2 D2) since a 1-2 loss in December 2020.
  • Reading have won just one of their last 21 league matches played on a Wednesday (D6 L14), a 3-0 home win over Blackburn earlier this season.
  • Luton Town are unbeaten in their last nine Wednesday league games (W5 D4) since a 1-0 away defeat to Brentford January 2021.
  • Yakou Meite has four league goals against Luton Town, with all four coming in the same game, a 5-0 win in July 2020. He hasn’t scored in any of his other four games against the Hatters.
