The September nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:
Andy Cook (Bradford City) - striker
With new signing Vadaine Oliver competing for his place, Cook returned from the summer looking lighter, fitter and sharper. He already possessed a poacher’s instincts, evident in his five goals in four games, including three towering headers.
Sam Hoskins (Northampton Town) - wide midfielder
Hoskins’ season for the ages continued into September with a further four goals in four games, which included a lovely strike against Stockport. He was a constant threat to opposition defences, taking shots at every opportunity.
Dan Happe (Leyton Orient) – central defender
The leader of an Orient rearguard which kept four clean sheets in four games to stay top. Strong in the air, savvy in his one-on-defending and with good feet, he made outstanding contributions against Tranmere and Rochdale.
George Lapslie (Mansfield Town) – attacking midfielder
Playing behind Lucas Akins, Lapslie has found a role which suits his love of taking on defenders with the ball to create havoc. In five September games, he scored two goals, won two penalties for his side and added an assist.
