The September nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award are:
Wes Foderingham (Sheffield United) - goalkeeper
The final brick in a defensive wall which didn’t concede in three away games in September, Foderingham kept his goal intact with his organisational and shot-stopping ability, making crucial saves in the victories at Hull and Preston.
Carlton Morris (Luton Town) – striker
Morris arrived at Kenilworth Road with little fanfare or bravado, but just as off the pitch, opposing defenders don’t notice he is there until he pops up to score. His ability to sniff out a chance saw him claim four goals in as many games.
Teemu Pukki (Norwich City) - striker
Injury and inconsistency meant Pukki did not make his usual flying start to a Championship season. That was until the calendar switched to September when he came alive with three goals and two pivotal assists in three games.
Patrick Roberts (Sunderland) – winger
His brilliance hasn’t always been paired with consistency, but Roberts made quite an impact in September. He cut inside to sweep home twice in Sunderland’s win at Reading and then provided a pinpoint cross for a late equaliser at Watford.
