The October nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award are:
Victor Adeboyejo (Burton Albion) – striker
Seven of Burton’s eight points in October arrived courtesy of Adeboyejo’s five goals in seven goals. His hat-trick against Forest Green was a delightful combination - a close range header, a muscled second and a brilliant 20-yard curler.
Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday) - midfielder
An all-pervading influence on Wednesday’s attacking play. Adding to his two October assists were two moments of genius – a blistering 20-yard strike into the top corner against Cheltenham and the deftest of close-in lobs against Burton.
Aaron Collins (Bristol Rovers) - striker
The dynamic striker is having a stellar season. Three goals and three assists were his official tally, but his driven finishes and superb crosses were supplemented by countless runs off the ball and a goal-creating dummy at Sheffield Wednesday.
Michael Cooper (Plymouth Argyle) - goalkeeper
While Plymouth scored 18 goals in the month, they relied on Cooper’s unflappability, bravery and shot-stopping ability at the other end. Several brilliant saves underpinned Argyle’s wins over Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday.
