Preston qualified to the knockout stages as the best runner-up in the Group Stages, with the latter required to book Under-18s teams in the North's place in the knockout rounds.

Preston North End's route to the Final:

Quarter-Finals: Preston North End 2-1 Burton Albion

Semi-Finals: Preston North End 4-1 Bolton Wanderers

And Luton have recorded some big wins this year en-route to the Final, before making it through to the Final.

Luton Town's route to the Final:

Round One: Luton Town 4-3 Leyton Orient

Round Two: Forest Green Rovers 1-7  Luton Town

Quarter-Finals: Luton Town 5-2 Northampton Town

Semi-Finals: AFC Wimbledon 2-3 Luton Town

Preston will be looking to do the double, having already taken the North West Youth Alliance League title this season.

The Lilywhites, who have also won the Central League, are also preparing for the Central League Cup Final, having booked their place in the showdown.

Luton, on the other hand, have won this competition more recently. In 2017/18, the Hatters ran out 1-0 winners over Wigan Athletic in the Final. Meanwhile, Preston's last triumph in the Youth Alliance Cup came during the 2005/06 campaign.

Both teams will be looking to topple the reigning champions Rochdale, who won the competition last time out.
