Port Vale will play in Sky Bet League One next season after beating Mansfield Town 3-0 in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium!
The Valiants scored twice in four minutes in the first half through forwards Kian Harratt and James Wilson, while Mal Benning finished things off late on.
It was a nervy opening that lacked much goalmouth action, but the game burst into life on 20 minutes when Vale took the lead through Huddersfield Town loanee Harratt, who diverted Benning’s cross into the net with a controlled headed finish.
Darrell Clarke’s team took just four minutes to double their advantage as Ben Garrity’s header struck the crossbar before Wilson converted the rebound from close range.
And the game was all but over with 10 minutes of the first half remaining after Oli Hawkins was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The Stags produced a spirited effort after falling a man down, with Rhys Oates coming inches away from halving the deficit, only for Vale defender Connor Hall to brilliantly clear off the line.
After the break, the Valiants came close to extending their lead twice, when Harratt and substitute Harry Charsley both had goals chalked off for offside.
And they finally added further gloss to the scoreline in the 85th minute as former Mansfield man Benning expertly volleyed home a David Worrall cross to confirm a comfortable Wembley win for Vale.
