The January nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:
Luke McGee (Forest Green Rovers) - goalkeeper
The 26-year-old has blossomed under Rob Edwards whose reward in January was five clean sheets in six games, including an outstanding series of stops in the draw with Exeter, and a keeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Harry McKirdy (Swindon Town) - striker
McKirdy’s elusive running and infectious enthusiasm paid dividends with six goals, all of them a poacher’s finishes, and two assists in five games. More importantly, he either scored or set up Swindon’s opener in four of their January fixtures.
Lee O’Connor (Tranmere Rovers) - defensive midfielder
A landmark month for the 21-year-old Irishman who made his loan move from Celtic permanent and whose energy, work-rate and non-stop tackling continue to provide a shield for a defence which kept another three clean sheets.
Dom Telford (Newport County) - striker
It’s that man again. Telford’s happy knack for turning Newport’s impressive team play into points keeps on giving with six goals in his five games - all scored in pairs against Walsall, Harrogate and Barrow in seemingly effortless fashion.
