Sky Bet League One Player of the Month: November nominations

6 December 2022

The November nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:

Carlos Mendes Gomes (Fleetwood Town) - striker

Mendes Gomes scored the opening goal against both Oxford United and Bolton Wanderers in his own personal goal of the month competition. One was an audacious close-in bicycle kick, the other a thunderbolt from outside the area following a sharp turn.

Adam Phillips (Barnsley) - midfielder

Often a substitute this season, his patience paid off with two goals in as many matches after being handed a starting role. Drove Barnsley forward, sweeping home the winner at Shrewsbury and then heading in against MK Dons.

Connor Ripley (Morecambe) – goalkeeper

Produced the month’s outstanding individual performance in League One with two heroic penalty saves – from different players – to secure his side a point against Derby. He also made other important reaction stops at Lincoln.

Harvey Rodgers (Accrington Stanley) - central defender

At 26, Rodgers has brought composure on the ball, consistency and leadership to his defensive game this season. He also headed home both of Stanley’s goals in November – a late equaliser at Lincoln and the winner at Cambridge United.
