The March nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award are:
James Bree (Luton Town) – wing-back/central defender
Strong in one-on-one situations with attackers, Bree adapted seamlessly to a new central defensive role thrust on him by injuries. As well as his usual reliable set-piece deliveries, he curled a stunning free-kick up and over the Hull wall.
Michael Obafemi (Swansea City) – striker
Fitting a forward into a side means playing to his strengths. Obafemi and Swansea are now in sync, as four goals and an assist in five games will attest, with the striker enjoying playing on the shoulder and then bursting clear at will.
Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth) - striker
Three goals and two assists in five games for Solanke whose mobility and link-up play are now laced with his football intelligence. Adding to his spatial awareness, an audacious flicked finish at Huddersfield showcased poaching prowess.
Djed Spence (Nottingham Forest) - wing-back
A dynamic force down the Forest right all season, Spence is always looking for an end product. His run and trickery earned a penalty at Sheffield United, he had two assists against Reading and drove home a 30-yard screamer against QPR.
