Talented wing-back Djed Spence has claimed the EFL Young Player of the Month award for the second time in his career following a string of hugely impressive performances during March.
The 21-year-old, who also won the accolade in January 2020, has been instrumental in Nottingham Forest’s surge towards the Play-Offs with his dynamism on the right flank.
On loan from promotion rivals Middlesbrough, Spence contributed two assists and a goal as Forest picked up seven points from a possible nine in March as Forest pursue a return to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.
Spence’s spectacular strike from distance in victory against QPR was voted Championship Goal of the Month, while his performances also saw him scoop the division’s Player of the Month trophy, making it a hat-trick of awards.
Additionally, he has been included in the shortlist for Championship Young Player of the Season, alongside team-mate Brennan Johnson, who won the monthly award in September.
Spence has made 34 appearances in the league for Forest since joining on a temporary basis, scoring twice and claiming four assists, as well as contributing to 14 clean sheets.
