The August nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:
Dave Challinor (Hartlepool United)
It is hard to overstate the haste in which Challinor had to assemble his squad after only winning the National League play-off final on June 20. To win three of their opening four games back in the Sky Bet EFL is a remarkable feat.
Rob Edwards (Forest Green Rovers)
Easy, this management lark. Not only did Edwards’ new side gain more points than their rivals in August – 12 from five games, their 13 goals were five more than any other team managed in a free-flowing start to the season, which included a 6-3 win over Crawley.
Ben Garner (Swindon Town)
It’s fair to say that Garner has surprised even the most optimistic of Swindon supporters given the uncertainty surrounding the club’s future in the summer. A haul of 10 points from five games has restored faith and belief in Wiltshire.
Simon Weaver (Harrogate Town)
August was disrupted by Covid-related postponements but you wouldn’t know it from Harrogate’s smooth start under Weaver’s calm guidance when they made it onto the pitch, amassing 10 points from four unbeaten games.
