Following recent performances, Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz has made it into the EA Sports FUT Team of the Week.
The Sky Bet Championship’s leading marksman added to his tally at the weekend, as Rovers registered an emphatic 5-1 victory over Cardiff City. Brereton Diaz notched his first hat-trick against the Bluebirds, on a brace by half-time and completing his treble in the 90th minute from the penalty spot.
Yesterday evening, the Chilean international grabbed two more goals against Huddersfield Town to put him two strikes clear of John Swift in the Championship scorers’ charts, as Blackburn fell to a 3-2 defeat to the West Yorkshire team.
With nine League goals to his name to date, the 22-year-old already on the verge of breaking into double figures for the 2021/22 campaign, whilst Blackburn sit just inside the top six.
Speaking on the Official EFL Podcast earlier in the month, Brereton Diaz spoke of his journey to the Copa America and how a Blackburn Rovers matchday programme opened him up to the possibility of representing Chile.
The Stoke-on-Trent-born striker broke into the international scene at the 2021 edition of the South American football tournament and has carried his fine form into the current campaign, becoming a firm fans' favourite at Ewood Park.
