The September nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:
Darrell Clarke (Port Vale)
The springtime revival under Clarke saw Vale win eight games out of nine. Could another run be on the way after a slow start to the new campaign burst into life last month with nine points out of 12 and three successive victories?
Matt Gray (Sutton United)
After spending much of August on the road, Gray’s side demonstrated how formidable they are at Gander Green Lane, settling into EFL life by beating Stevenage, Hartlepool and Carlisle at home to collect nine points from a possible 12.
Kenny Jackett (Leyton Orient)
Jackett spent his summer assembling a new side in east London. His trio of attackers, Harry Smith, Theo Archibald and Aaron Drinan, collectively scored eight of Orient’s nine goals to collect eight points from four unbeaten games.
Matt Taylor (Exeter City)
Having seen several long-serving players leave Devon, Taylor knew a rebuild was needed. He has done it from a solid defensive base. Just one goal was conceded in four unbeaten games which yielded eight points and an encouraging seven goals.
