The September nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month Award are:
Neil Critchley (Blackpool)
Belief is a magical quality in football. Critchley told his side that a first win of the season was possible against then unbeaten Fulham. His players seized the day and added two more victories to end September with 10 points from five matches.
Slavisa Jokanovic (Sheffield United)
Replacing a beloved manager in Chris Wilder and implementing your own style is hard enough, but United’s poor start had the doubts surfacing. Not in Jokanovic, who stuck to his principles and saw 10 points gained in five games.
Scott Parker (Bournemouth)
In itself, 13 points from five unbeaten games is impressive enough. What is more so is that Bournemouth only fired in patches in September. Parker has added a steely determination to a side which already had flair in abundance.
Wayne Rooney (Derby County)
Rooney doesn’t need Derby as much as Derby need him. When administration brought a 12-point deduction, his resolve to stay doubled. He filled his players with passionate pride and led them to wins over in-form sides Stoke and Reading.
