Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month: October nominations

9 November 2021

The October nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:

Kwesi Appiah (Crawley Town) - striker

Brought into the club as cover, the 31-year-old didn’t start a game until October, which makes his achievement of scoring every one of Crawley’s five goals in the month, including a vital winner at Rochdale, all the more remarkable.

Peter Clarke (Tranmere Rovers) – central defender

With his 40th birthday looming in January, Clarke is almost beyond veteran status, but what he lacks in youth is made up for in experience. That includes his heading ability, both at the back and at corners, from which he scored three goals in October.

Mitch Pinnock (Northampton Town) – wide midfielder

Having recovered from illness, Pinnock regained full fitness and form in October combining vision, clever technical ability, speed of thought and superb delivery from the left and at set pieces to claim five assists and a pivotal role in two other goals.

Dom Telford (Newport County) - striker

It was a month of transition for Newport in the dugout, but one to die for on the pitch for Telford. He contributed an assist and eight goals, including a clever shot on the swivel and a brilliant solo run against Carlisle, as well as a hat-trick against Stevenage.
