"A great game, and a great day" is how Manchester City superfan Noel Gallagher described the Carabao Cup Final, as his side won the competition for a seventh time.
In beating Aston Villa 2-1 at Wembley Stadium, City became just the second club to lift the trophy in three consecutive seasons, following their triumphs in 2018 and 2019.
Goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodri did the damage on the day, and Gallagher was naturally delighted to be a part of the celebrations.
"It feels great, as you can well imagine," he said. "It was a great day and a great atmosphere; the Villa fans brought it as well, so I enjoyed it a lot. It's pretty amazing to win three in a row.
"I'm not going to lie, I expected City to win the Final and I think if we'd have gone in 2-0 up at half-time we would have scored a few more, but we gifted them a goal and it made the game very interesting.
"I thought it was a great game, a great day. It's been a great week in general for the club. We've won the Cup, so bring on the rest of the season!"
Citizens youngster Phil Foden was awarded the Alan Hardaker trophy for his Man-of-the-Match performance in midfield, and Gallagher is tipping him for an Enfgland call-up on the back of the display.
"I was delighted to see Phil Foden get Man of the Match, it's an important one for him," he added.
"Unfortunately for the lad, he's come through at a time when we've got so many great midfielders, but he'll play for England, I'm sure of that."
