- Exeter City are unbeaten in their last seven home games against Colchester, with all games coming in League competition between 2–9/10 and this season (W4, D3).
- Colchester United are unbeaten in all three of their matches against Exeter City in League Two this season (W1, D2), keeping a clean sheet in their last two games against the Grecians.
- The U’s have never won an away Play-Off fixture in three previous attempts. However, this is their first away match in the Play-Offs since the 1997/98 season.
- Exeter have won the second leg in each of their last two Play-Off campaigns, scoring three goals in each win to secure a place in the Final.
- The last ten teams to win the first leg of the League Two Play-Off Semi-Finals at home have then progressed to the Final. The last team t fail to do so was Darlington in the 2007/08 season.
- The Grecians are winless in six matches in all competitions (D2, L4), losing each of the last two in a row. They have not lost three games in a row since December 2018.

- Cheltenham Town have won four of its last five League Two matches against Northampton (D1) since the start of last season, winning both of their home games in that run.
- Northampton Town are looking for their first away win against Cheltenham since the second leg of the 2012/13 League Two Play-Off Semi-Finals, when they won 1-0.
- All five previous teams to win the first leg away from home by two goals or more I the fourth tier Play-Offs have gone on to reach the Final.
- Across all divisions, the last team to lose the first leg of a Football League Play-Off by two goals or more and progress to the Final was Yeovil Town against Nottingham Forest in the 2006/07 season in League One. They lost the first leg 2-0, before going on to win the second leg 5-2.
- Should the Robins reach the Play-Off Final, it will be their fourth Play-Off Final in the fourth tier - the joint most of any side. Blackpool and Torquay United have both also reached four.
- Northampton Town have lost seven of their last nine matches in all competitions. They did however win their last away match in February away at Grimsby Town.
- Since shipping seven goals against Newport County in a Leasing.com Trophy match back in November, Cheltenham have only conceded more than one goal in a game once in all competitions, conceding just 16 goals across 24 matches since then.
