What's coming up this weekend?

There are nine games coming up across Sky Bet League One and League Two on Saturday

3 January 2020

The EFL action returns this weekend, with nine fixtures to look forward to across Sky Bet League One and League Two.

Here's what's coming up...

With several Clubs involved in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend, there is just one match taking place in Sky Bet League One, as Sunderland AFC host Lincoln City.

The sides - who sit 13th and 16th respectively going into this clash - are separated by just two points, though the Play-Off places are still within touching distance with the division as close as ever.

Lincoln come into this one on the back of back-to-back victories against two promotion-chasing teams in Ipswich Town and Peterborough United, while Sunderland have drawn three of their last four, including a 1-1 scoreline at Fleetwood Town last time out.

The rest of the weekend's action comes from Sky Bet League Two, with eight fixtures scheduled to take place.

They include a clash between league leaders Swindon Town and fourth-placed Bradford City, which promises to be a fantastic match-up. Looking to pounce should Bradford slip up are Colchester United, who are unbeaten in 10 league games and up against struggling Stevenage.

Elsewhere, Ian Holloway faces his first away day as Grimsby Town manager as his side head to Mansfield Town, who are fresh from a 3-2 win at Cambridge United on New Year's Day. For Cambridge, it's a trip to Macclesfield Town, who will be looking to put further distance between themselves and Morecambe at the bottom, with the latter not in action this weekend.
