Thai Airways competition: Win a pair of Trophy Final tickets and tour of Wembley Stadium

20 February 2020

This season’s Trophy Final will be contested by Portsmouth and Salford City, with both teams reaching Wembley in very different circumstances.

The current holders of the competition, Portsmouth, looked down and out in the 90th minute when defender Christian Burgess put through his own net to put Exeter City 2-1 up in the game.

But no less than five minutes later, that feeling of agony turned to ecstasy as goals from Cameron McGeehan and John Marquis made sure that Kenny Jackett’s side returned to Wembley to defend their crown.

Salford City made sure they were this year’s challengers for the Trophy, as they sealed victory over fellow Sky Bet League Two side Newport County at Rodney Parade.

The game would yield no goals in normal time so off to the penalty shoot-out they went. Despite Tom King saving a what could have been Salford’s winning spot-kick, he could only watch on as team-mate Ryan Inniss’ effort flew helplessly over the crossbar.

Thai Airways, Official Supporter of the EFL, is giving away 20 pairs of tickets to the Trophy Final between Portsmouth and Salford City on Sunday 05th April, 2020.

The lucky winners will also get the unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of their favourite players and experience an unforgettable pre-game tour of Wembley Stadium on cup final day.
