The January nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:
Nicky Adams (Northampton Town) – winger
Northampton’s assists king is at it again. With slide-rule passes and pinpoint crosses, the winger made four goals for his teammates in January, had defenders running ragged and even added a goal himself against Morecambe.
Luke Jephcott (Plymouth Argyle) – striker
Five goals from four starts for the 20-year-old forward after his recall from non-league Truro City. His timing was perfect as Argyle needed someone steady in front of goal to fire them towards the automatic promotion places.
Jonathan Maxted (Exeter City) - goalkeeper
A series of superb stops, including a penalty save, preserved the 1-0 win at Forest Green, one of four clean sheets in the month for Maxted, who was at shot-stopping best against Grimsby as well as marshalling the Exeter back-line.
Ollie Palmer (Crawley Town) – striker
Six goals in five games do not tell the full story of Palmer’s stellar month. The tall striker scored twice against each of Bradford, Grimsby and Plymouth and added an assist. Funny thing is, only one of his goals was a trademark header.
