The January nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award are:
Josh Harrop (Preston North End) – midfielder
In four games, Harrop managed two stunning goals – a sweetly-timed volley at Blackburn and a pinpoint curler against Charlton – as well as two perfectly flighted set-piece deliveries that led to decisive goals from teammates.
Michael Hector (Fulham) – central defender
Three matches, three clean sheets. Fulham and defensively solidity have hardly been bedfellows this season. That was until Hector’s arrival. Positionally intelligent, he is quick to the ball and provides an assured an aerial presence.
Joe Lolley (Nottingham Forest) - midfielder
Quiet in the first four months, Lolley has begun to show signs of returning to last season’s stellar form. As much as his four goals and an assist from five games, it was his determination to seize control of games which stood out.
Nakhi Wells (Bristol City / Queens Park Rangers) - striker
How spectacular – and odd – was the Bermudan’s month? On the pitch, he contributed five goals - including a hat-trick against Cardiff - and a delightful assist. Off it, he moved clubs, which limited him to just three January games.
