The players to look out for in the Quarter-Finals

8 December 2020

With the Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals now within touching distance, here's a look at the standout stars that will be looking to help their sides reach the final four...

TYRESE CAMPBELL - STOKE CITY

Stoke City's 20-year-old striker - who is the son of Kevin Campbell - has been in fine form so far this season, and scored the winner against Gillingham to send his side to Round Four. He's already approaching double figures in league action in 2020/21 and will no doubt be looking forward to testing himself against Premier League opposition in the Quarter-Finals.

HARRY KANE - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

The Tottenham talisman has been ruthless in front of goal again this season, linking up superbly with team-mate Heung-Min Son in particular. Under Jose Mourinho, the joint-most successful manager in this competition's history, the England skipper will be hoping to fire Spurs to glory in 2020/21. The Stoke defence will have to be at its best to stop him.

IVAN TONEY - BRENTFORD

Last season's Sky Bet League One top scorer with Peterborough United has already set about claiming this season's Championship prize in some style with new club Brentford. Ivan Toney's hot streak shows no signs of letting up ahead of the Quarter-Finals, and the Newcastle United squad will be well aware of their former man's talents. Can he send the Bees to the Semis?

ALLAN SAINT-MAXIMIN - NEWCASTLE UNITED

Undoubtedly one of the most important players at Steve Bruce's disposal, attack-minded Frenchman Allan Saint-Maximin is still just 23 years of age. On his day, he has the ability to unlock any defence, and Newcastle will be hoping he's at his best when they travel to the capital. He'll be key if the Geordies are to win this competition for the first time.

GABRIEL - ARSENAL

The first defender on our list, Gabriel has shone since his move to North London and his next task will be to keep holders Manchester City at bay. The Brazilian will celebrate his 23rd birthday just days before the Quarter-Final clash, and will no doubt be wanting to mark the occasion with a win. Gabriel was part of the Arsenal side that kept a clean sheet at Anfield in the last round.

RAHEEM STERLING - MANCHESTER CITY

Raheem Sterling is no stranger to this stage of the competition, having won the League Cup on four occasions, and an impressive brace at Burnley in the last round suggests he's hungry for more. The Manchester City and England man has seven career goals against Arsenal, a tally he'll be itching to add to in the Quarter-Finals.

DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN - EVERTON

Round Four's Player of the Round has been a revelation in 2020/21 and, having already been rewarded with an England debut, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be hoping to cap an unforgettable campaign by winning the Carabao Cup with Everton. With three goals to his name in this season's competition, he's just one behind joint-top scorers Sebastien Haller and Tristan Abrahams.

BRUNO FERNANDES - MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United's driving force since joining the club, Bruno Fernandes has already won the Reds' in-house Player of the Month award five times. There will be plenty expected of the midfielder in the Carabao Cup this season and, as a big game player, he'll be relishing the chance to help his side to the Semi-Finals.
