Sky Bet League Two: August Player of the Month nominations

10 September 2019

The August nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award are:

Eoin Doyle (Swindon Town) - Striker

Unwanted at Bradford, Doyle’s August consisted of two ineffective games in West Yorkshire, then five goals in four games in Wiltshire as he rediscovered his predatory instincts to shoot Swindon into the early season playoff places.

James Hanson (Grimsby Town) - Striker

Strikers just want to be loved. Hanson is at Blundell Park where he has been made the focal point of the Grimsby attack and given the supply of crosses on which he thrives. Five goals and two assists included a towering header at Walsall.

Ryan Haynes (Newport County) – Full-Back

A summer arrival from Shrewsbury, Haynes has slotted in at left-back and added his defensive prowess to a team that kept five clean sheets in six games. Always happy to go forward, he also scored in the win over Forest Green.

Joseph Mills (Forest Green Rovers) – Wing-Back

It isn’t often that a centre-back converts into a wide player. Mills has made it look effortless, bursting into the attack at every opportunity, sending in pinpoint free-kicks and even contributing three goals from his new position.
