The August nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award are:
Ian Henderson (Rochdale) – Striker
Never one to conform, Henderson’s three goals in six games included two of League One’s most aesthetically pleasing goals in August - the deftest of lobs at Tranmere and the final touch to a slick team move against Southend.
Kayden Jackson (Ipswich Town) – Striker
His four goals from open play have owed everything to his pace and hunger, as well as the rapport he has struck up with new strike partner James Norwood. Notable among his goals were the crisp finishes against AFC Wimbledon and Shrewsbury.
Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United) - Midfielder
Three goals and six assists for the mercurial midfielder. Improved as August went on to the point where he was virtually unplayable in a new central role against MK Dons and Sunderland, against both of whom he scored stunning free-kicks.
Josh Vickers (Lincoln City) - Goalkeeper
Central to Lincoln’s impressive start to life in League One has been the form of 23-year-old Vickers. His shot-stopping ability saw him make crucial saves in the wins over Rotherham and Fleetwood, two of his four clean sheets in August.
