The August nominations for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award are:
Danny Cowley (Lincoln City)
Different division, same success. Cowley’s genius is his ability to acquire ever more skilful players and instil in them the work ethic he demands. The transition to League One has been seamless, witness 12 points from six games.
Simon Grayson (Blackpool)
Never go back, they say. Grayson has, and with instant success, leading Blackpool through an unbeaten month and amassing 12 points from six games. His side’s easy-on-the-eye style has reinforced the feelgood factor at Bloomfield Road.
Paul Lambert (Ipswich Town)
Turning around a losing mentality isn’t easy. Ipswich won just five games last season, yet they managed four victories in an unbeaten August following relegation and picked up 14 points. Lambert’s faith in his players is catching.
Mark Robins (Coventry City)
Twelve points from six unbeaten games is a remarkable haul when you consider that Coventry have to leave the city to play every game. Winning all three games at St Andrew’s, their temporary home, is even more noteworthy.
