October nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month are as follows:
Pep Clotet (Birmingham City)
The Spaniard has quietly moved Birmingham into the top half of the Championship. Their three wins in October all came at St Andrew’s as Middlesbrough, Blackburn and Luton were beaten by a fusion of passion and organisation.
Danny Cowley (Huddersfield Town)
Any doubts that he could gain the respect of highly paid Championship players and instil his methods were swept away as Huddersfield gained 11 points from five unbeaten games, re-connected with their fans and moved out of the bottom three.
Thomas Frank (Brentford)
Made light of an awkward-looking fixture list and key long-term injuries to steer Brentford to 10 points from five games. His side ended the month in style, beating Millwall, Swansea and QPR and scoring three goals each time.
Grant McCann (Hull City)
Still working through the inconsistencies that come with a host of summer signings. Three wins from five games, including an impressive 2-1 victory at Nottingham Forest, suggest that McCann’s methods are starting to work.
