As the start of the new Sky Bet Championship campaign draws ever closer, we've been looking at some of the top players to keep an eye on during the opening weekend.
There will again be a host of talented stars plying their trade in the division in 2019/20 - here are our ones to watch...
ETHAN PINNOCK (BRENTFORD)
Brentford have not hung around in this summer transfer window with the addition of a few standout players from the 2018/19 EFL season. Defender Ethan Pinnock is one of those players, having enjoyed a successful spell at Yorkshire club Barnsley last season.
The 26-year-old was the leading light in the Tykes’ back-line as they secured the second automatic promotion spot in Sky Bet League One, just behind champions Luton Town. Pinnock was named in the EFL and the PFA Team of the Season for his impressive performances.
TOMMY ROWE (BRISTOL CITY)
Tommy Rowe, like Pinnock, was plying his trade in League One last season with another Yorkshire club, Doncaster Rovers, where he quickly became a fan favourite after his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016.
The 30-year-old enjoyed a successful season with Rovers, helping them to a sixth-placed finish and a Play-Off Semi-Final fixture against Charlton Athletic, but it was his missed penalty in the shoot-out that would see them miss out on a Final spot.
CHUKS ANEKE (CHARLTON ATHLETIC)
With promotion from Sky Bet League One under their belt, Charlton Athletic have made significant headway in making sure their stay in the Championship is a long one.
Chuks Aneke was instrumental in helping MK Dons to promotion last season with 19 goals in all competitions, and the Addicks will be hoping he can strike up a similar total alongside Lyle Taylor next season.
TOM EAVES (HULL CITY)
With a new manager in place in the form of Grant McCann at the KCOM Stadium, it did not take him long to dip his feet into the transfer market and make his first signing of the season - Tom Eaves from Gillingham was his man.
The 6ft 5in striker was snapped up on a free transfer by the Championship side and will be looking to get amongst the goals in the Tigers’ opening game of the season against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
HELDER COSTA (LEEDS UNITED)
Potentially one of the biggest signings of the summer transfer window so far saw Helder Costa join Leeds United from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan deal.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international was part of the Wolves team that gained promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2017/18 season, and will have his sights firmly set on achieving the same feat with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
