Matchday 29: Team of the Week

22 January 2019

Some stellar performances on another big week of action! Here's the Team of the Week for Matchday 29...

Frank Fielding (Bristol City)

The Robins keeper made a string of saves as his side withstood pressure to secure an impressive away win at Nottingham Forest, a result which moves them to within touching distance of the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off places.

Sido Jombati (Wycombe Wanderers)

The 31-year-old led by example as Wycombe recorded an important victory over Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One, heading home a corner at one end and keeping a clean sheet at the other.

John Brayford (Burton Albion)

Goals are like London buses for the Albion man, who netted a rare brace - his first strikes of the season - in a four-goal thriller against Doncaster Rovers. His first was an excellent overhead kick.

Harry Toffolo (Lincoln City)

Toffolo was the hero on derby day as the Imps secured a narrow win over local rivals Grimsby Town at Sincil Bank. The defender lashed in a 20-yard volley to send the home fans wild and keep Lincoln top of Sky Bet League Two.

Kamohelo Mokotjo (Brentford)

The South African midfielder produced a solid all-round display as Brentford won at Rotherham United, scoring two of the Bees' four goals on the day. Thomas Frank's side are now unbeaten in seven, with Mokotjo in fine form.

Jay O’Shea (Bury)

Bury overcame a tricky test at Forest Green Rovers to keep their League Two charge firmly on track, with O'Shea's superb solo goal sending a message to the Shakers' promotion rivals.

Stephen Humphrys (Southend)

Having only sealed a switch from Fulham on the morning of the match, the young forward showed exactly why Southend made a move for him, scoring twice on his debut against Bradford, including a stunning effort into the bottom left-hand corner.

Brad Potts (Preston North End)

Rated highly as a Barnsley player in League One, Potts has made a fantastic start to life in the Championship, and capped a standout display with a goal as Preston beat QPR 4-1 at Loftus Road.

James Collins (Luton Town)

High-flying Luton were at it again on Saturday, with Collins setting the tone for a big win over fellow promotion hopefuls Peterborough United. The striker scored his first after just eight minutes and had a hat-trick before the hour mark as the Hatters secured a 4-0 victory.

Tyler Smith (Doncaster Rovers)

The on-loan Sheffield Utd striker bagged a brace on his Rovers debut in 2-2 draw with Burton, stepping off the bench at half-time and finding the net after just eight minutes on the pitch.

Andy Cook (Walsall)

Like Collins, Cook also scored a hat-trick, helping Walsall to an impressive 3-0 away win over Gillingham. It was a clinical display, with two well-placed headers and a left-footed effort seeing him take home the match ball.

Manager - David Flitcroft (Mansfield Town)

The Stags were 2-0 down at the break against promotion rivals Colchester United, but came back to win 3-2 away from home, a result which could prove vital as the season wears on.
