Ding dong merrily on Sky: Chris Kamara and Dennis Wise to conduct Carabao Cup draw live on Sky Sports

16 December 2019

Christmas may be around the corner but this week it’s all about the Carabao Cup, as the Semi-Final draw takes place live from the Kassam Stadium this Wednesday 18 December, following Oxford United’s Quarter-Final clash with Manchester City.

Sky Sports pundit and former player Chris Kamara, whose album is currently battling for Christmas No.1, will bring some festive cheer to the draw alongside former Chelsea and Leicester City player and ultimate ‘wise man’, Dennis Wise, who lifted the League Cup in 1998.

Sky Sports presenter Scott Minto will host proceedings, which will also be covered across the EFL’s digital and social channels.

In anticipation of the big event, Dennis joined Kammy in a recording studio whilst rehearsing for his album, before the pair jingle all the way to the Kassam Stadium ready for the Semi-Final draw.

Last year’s competition saw over 1.2 million people pass through the turnstiles at Carabao Cup fixtures which culminated in a showpiece Wembley Final.

Chris Kamara said: I love Christmas, but we can’t forget the Carabao Cup at this time of year. The competition is hugely exciting and I’m sure the Quarter-Final fixtures and beyond will bring us the gift of goals and maybe even a few surprises.

“I’m looking forward to being part of the Semi-Final draw and I can’t wait to see the matches we decide.”

Dennis Wise said: “It’s fantastic to be part of this year’s Semi-Final draw. I’m extremely proud to be part of the history of the competition and lifting the trophy in 1998 is an achievement I remember fondly.

“I’m sure there will be two exciting fixtures decided as an extra special present for plenty of fans.”
