West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilic believes the continued work of the EFL and its Clubs in raising awareness about mental health is "so important".
It comes after the EFL picked up the Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year award for its work with charity partners, Mind, at the recent 2019 Football Business Awards.
Bilic welcomed HRH The Duke of Cambridge to Albion's training ground last week as part of the 'Heads Up' campaign, which is being supported by all EFL Clubs, and believes that using the power of football to spread the word is vital.
"That's the most important thing, because football is the most popular sport in the world. With that, it's the most influential one too," he said.
"I think that, especially for the young people who idolise players, they'll normally listen more to a player than others. That's why we have a privilege and a big obligation to spread that very important information.
"Of course, if you are not fit mentally, you are not fit physically. It's very difficult to cope if you are struggling and so it's very important to tell other people.
"Everyone is affected by mental health, and it's good to share your emotions and situations, not only with your loved ones but with others. It can only help you, because it can become a problem.
"It's very difficult to cope with something like that alone, so that's why these campaigns are so important. Speaking to someone who has the knowledge to help you cope is so important."
