There’s a full list of Sky Bet League Two fixtures to look forward to this weekend. Take a look at our preview…
Raiding the Robins' nest
Ninth-placed Swindon Town will face a tough test this Saturday when they welcome Oldham Athletic, who have picked up points in their lasts seven trips to the Wiltshire side.
The seventh-placed Latics are unbeaten on their travels this season and hit the road again having returned victorious on their last two away matches, whilst the Robins have lost as many matches at home as they have won.
It’s hard to separate these sides on form, the Robins losing just once and the Latics twice in their last eight matches in all competitions this season. But the hosts have the worst defensive record above Cambridge United in 19th.
Regardless, both sides are on 15 points having won four, drawn three and lost two in the division, so whoever is victorious in this one could pull away with a healthy cushion in the top seven.
Look on the Ironside
Newport County can approach their home clash with Cambridge United on Saturday having beaten the U’s in their last four meetings in all competitions. However, tomorrow’s visitors have won at Rodney Parade as recently as 2016.
Cambridge will look to capitalise on County’s shaky home form of late – they have scored none and conceded nine in their last two divisional matches on their own turf.
A win on Saturday would keep the third-placed Exiles in touching distance of the top spot, meanwhile, three points for Cambridge would propel them to a healthy distance from the bottom two.
Around the grounds
Top of the table Lincoln City will travel to Cheltenham Town in 18th. However, regardless of the Sky Bet League Two table, the Imps could be in for a challenge having lost eight of their last nine visits to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.
Second-placed Exeter City will attempt to make it four wins in a row at Port Vale – the hosts have not beaten the Grecians on home soil since 1994. Crawley Town have won their last three against Yeovil Town and host the Glovers tomorrow.
The league’s top scorers Colchester United welcome Bury, as the Sky Bet League Two’s last unbeaten side – Forest Green Rovers – head to winless Macclesfield Town, who will aim to bounce back from their 8-0 Carabao Cup drubbing at West Ham United on Wednesday.
Notts County, who kept a clean sheet last week to leapfrog the Silkmen in the drop zone, have not lost against Crewe Alexandra on their own patch since 1997, while Northampton Town are undefeated against Mansfield Town in their last five meetings. Both these ties feature this weekend.
