Cautions
If a player accumulates two cautions in the Checkatrade Trophy up to and including the quarter-final fixtures, he will be suspended automatically from the next Checkatrade Trophy match.
Dismissals from the field of play
A Player who is dismissed from the field of play in a Checkatrade Trophy match will automatically be suspended from the subsequent Checkatrade Trophy match.
The table below sets out the number of matches a player will be suspended for depending on the offence that has been committed. The offences referred to below are as defined in the Laws of the Game.
· Serious Foul Play - 3 matches
· Violent Conduct - 3 matches
· Spitting at an opponent or any other person - 6 matches
· Denial of an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity - 1 match
· Using offensive or insulting or abusive language/gestures - 2 matches
· Receives a second caution in the same match - 1 match
Dismissal in a Sky Bet EFL match prior to Checkatrade Trophy Matches:
The matches the player is suspended from playing is dependent on the nature of the offence he was sent off for. Please see below.
The offences are:
i. DOGSO Handball. Suspended for 1 recognised First Team (FT) match in approved Competitions as outlined in b. - below
ii. DOGSO Other. Suspended for 1 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b. - below
iii. Serious Foul Play. Suspended from all domestic Club football until the completion of 3 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b - below
iv. Spitting. Suspended from all domestic Club football until the completion of 6 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b - below
v. Violent Conduct. Suspended from all domestic Club football until the completion of 3 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b -below
vi. Offensive insulting abusive language. Suspended for 2 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b - below
vii. Two yellows. Suspended for 1 recognised FT match in approved Competitions as outlined in b - below.
Note all domestic Club football means any fixture for the Club but the only matches used to serve the suspension are in b - below.
b. The matches that count towards the suspension being served are PL, EFL, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
