Gil Dias has been named Carabao Cup Player of the Round, for Round Two after his stunning display for Nottingham Forest in their victory over Newcastle United.
The Forest midfielder starred in the club's emphatic Round Two victory over Premier League Newcastle. He was a constant threat throughout the fixture and topped his display with a well-taken goal in the latter stages.
Demonstrating a never-say-die attitude Dias chased down a Magpie defender to dispossess him and showed his composure in front of goal to dink the ball over the on-rushing goalkeeper to make it 3-1.
Dias was shortlisted alongside three other players – Aboubakar Kamara of Fulham, Macclesfield Town's shoot-out hero Kieran O'Hara, and Norwich City's Dennis Srbeny. It was the Forest man who came out on top in a public vote on the official Carabao Cup Twitter account.
