The season is gathering pace now we're 10 games in and we've picked out a couple of games involving the chasing pack to keep an eye on this week...
Stevenage have quietly gone about their business this season, with a 1-0 victory away to Carlisle United on Saturday, courtesy of Ben Kennedy's stunning Sky Beat League Two Goal of the Weekend winner, taking them up to fourth and within two points of the team they face this evening.
Now unbeaten in four, they put that record on the line against an Exeter City side with the same run of three wins and a draw. They were denied a fourth straight win on Saturday at Port Vale by an equaliser that arrived seven minutes into time added on. Victory for either side will ensure a place in the automatic spots heading into the weekend.
After 10 games and a potential 30 points haul at this stage in the season, the gap between fourth in the table Stevenage to Port Vale in 16th place is just four points, and it could all look very differently come Saturday night with two full rounds of fixtures in the space of five days.
The tightness of this division is perhaps best highlighted by sixth-placed Oldham Athletic heading to face a Mansfield Town side who currently reside in 14th position but go into tonight's match on the back of a 4-0 win over Northampton Town at the weekend and knowing another win tonight would take them above the Latics.
With five draws so far the Stags are proving difficult to beat and having lost just once this season, at home to Exeter City in the middle of September, they will be keen to keep a run going against an Oldham side that has drawn their previous two league fixtures.
